Ms. Carla Kemp. She’s over 50 years old. Making all your excuses look like bullshit.

Is that my Fit Carla?!!! You are so awesome! Well ladies, living proof of what living fit looks like… over 50.

Video

Im this close!

364 Days away!

If the vid plays below, you’ll see people who raced all day yesterday and they are up sitting in line since 5am to buy Ironman gear.

These post race tents are the only place you can buy FINISHER gear.

Im sitting next to Jared, New Orleans, (first timer) and a couple from Jacksonville, Fl, also first timers, who trained and raced together. Jared couldn’t even put his face in the water a year ago……and now he’s an Ironman. That’s giving me confidence as I start training next week. In his prep for IM Texas he did 15 sprints and a half IM.

Man…this is crazy….Ironmen….and women, some meeting for the first time, bonded together only by the 140.6 miles they crushed just hours ago, in their compression socks, are sitting around trading war stories and whst races are next on their bucket lists.

As I sit here, Im acutely aware that, that as this line grows longer, there is no one else here that looks like me. This really isnt a sport synonymous with the african american community.

“Either you sling crack rock or you gotta wicked jumpshot.”

I enjoy motivating and pushing my friends to challenge themselves to be the best they can be……..now its my turn…time raise the bar.
